This schematic illustrates the ballasting system that Wayne Gramlich imagines would keep the seastead from tipping over.
- The amount of water in the ballasts could be raised or lowered to move the seastead up and down.

Active stabilization is nice but increases cost and complexity.
- I am searching for something that is stable enough to be outside the harbor but cheap enough I could afford to build it and make money renting it to adventure tourists.
- At 80 foot diagonal and 2 foot waves, this is just not going to tip too much.
A little bit of movement could add to the fun really, paying to get off the land and all.
- So while active stabilization is something to think about, not for this early version.
